EMPEROR'S GENMAICHA
green tea (tin)
Originally created in Japan hundreds of years ago when Zen monks mixed green tea with rice stuck to the bottom of their cauldrons, Genmaicha is now a staple, household beverage in Japan and a rising trend in cosmopolitan centers around the world. Japanese green tea and fire-toasted rice fill each cup with a nutty, filling, uniquely Asian flavor. The satisfying, smooth, warming flavor of this tea makes Genmaicha a popular diet aid.

The tea comes from the April harvest in Kagoshima, Kyushu, Japan. The rice is harvested in Autumn and comes from several perfectures in Japan.
Our elegant, embossed tin is designed to keep tea fresh and full of flavor.
A tin of Japanese Genmaicha holds approximately 36 teaspoons (12 tablespoons) of loose tea. The number of servings-per-tin varies depending upon the type of tea, leaf size, cup size and desired strength (amount of tea used).
The tin itself measures 6.25 inches tall, 2.75 inches wide and 2 inches deep. Although a tin holds 16 fluid ounces by volume, the actual ounce weight of the tea within varies depending on the density of the leaf.
