Ceylon – or modern day Sri Lanka -  is the 4th largest tea-producer in world; Approximately 4% of the country’s land area is covered by tea plantations and export revenue is over 1 billion. The British first planted tea in Sri Lanka in 1867, where the leaves thrived in the lush, tropical climate. Ceylon teas are known for their robust, full-bodied, deep, classic flavor, pleasant briskness, and light fruity finish.
