+Organic teas follow intensive quality and safety regulations, are grown without the use of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, fungicides, or herbicides, and may contain more nutrients and antioxidants because of biologically active, fertile and healthier soil. More and more synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, and especially pesticides are found to have adverse effects on the environment and people’s health.
With certified organic teas, the use of artificial flavors and even the many “natural” flavors (those that "pass" as natural but still contain hidden artificial ingredients) are strictly forbidden. Certified organic tea blends use only organic-compliant natural flavors (a very small portion of “natural flavors” qualifies for this designation), pure essential oils, and real fruits and flowers instead of the artificial flavors so often used in the tea industry.
We believe that our commitment to natural and certified organic products has a profound impact on taste, quality, and our own personal well-being. Buying organic also directly impacts the health of the environment and the people living and working in the tea gardens.
The majority of our teas are USDA certified organic. Although our conventional teas pass safety tests and some are even produced according to strict organic methods, the teas in this section contain only official, USDA certified organic teas.
