Citrus Breakfast (tin)
- Organic black tea
- Organic orange peel
- Pure essential oil of lemon
This tea is USDA Certified Organic.
This signature Octavia Tea blend is made with a blended base of Dian Hong and Ancient Yunnan Broken Pekoe from Yunnan, China. This premium quality black tea is made with a “broken pekoe” leaf-grade, which increases the cup’s strength and body.
Water Temperature: 195°F
Leaf to Water Ratio: 1 heaping tablespoon per 16 oz
Steep Time: 3-4 minutes
General Guide:
- Add tea leaves to a teapot, fill-your-own tea bag or infuser basket.
- Use 1 to 3 teaspoons (1 tablespoon) of leaves per cup (8 oz) of water. Adjust to taste.
- Bring fresh, cold water to a rolling boil, allow it to cool slightly, then pour water over tea leaves and cover.
- Infuse (steep) leaves between 2-5 minutes; 3½ minutes is a good average that works well for most tea types. Do not over steep or tea may become bitter. If you prefer strong tea, do not over steep; simply use more leaves.
- Remove bag or infuser from water or strain leaves. Enjoy!
Water Quality: Tea is only as good as the water used to prepare it. Avoid distilled or unfiltered tap water, which can limit tea’s flavor. Bottled spring water or filtered tap water is ideal.
Water Temperature: Most teas taste best when prepared with water around 195˚F (just below boiling) however, some teas require a lower temperature or they may become bitter.
Iced Tea: To make fresh iced tea, use twice as much tea to account for dilution by ice. Hot Brew: follow directions above, allow tea to cool, and add ice. Cold Brew: pour fresh, cold water over tea leaves, cover, and refrigerate 8 hours.

Excellent, fresh teaThis is one of our favorite Octavia teas. It has a clean, citrus scent and taste without overpowering the black tea base. A great all-year tea for any time of day, really.

wake up!I dislike my early morning routine, but having this tea every morning helps get me out of bed, no small feat. The citrus is mild, but makes the tea.

I love this teaThis tea is fantastic. The citrus is not overpowering yet refreshing. I drink this with cane sugar and vanilla soy creamer and it is delicious.

DeliciousI found Octavia Teas at a little tea shop near my house. Citrus Breakfast was the first I tried, and still my favorite. The citrus adds a brightness that is very refreshing, perfect for mornings. I even gave up coffee in favor of this tea! I like it with just a touch of honey.

Lacking the citrus? Maybe its my sample…This is a small leafed black tea that should have citrus peels in it, but I'm not really seeing any in my sample (could just be my sample). I'm trying and trying to find any citrus flavor here at all, and I'm just not tasting any of it. As a black tea, it's delicious enough. Robust, malty, brassy with a very dark brew. It isn't QUITE a CTC base, but the leaves are finely chopped. I like this as a black tea, but if it claims to be citrus, I really am searching for that citrus.
