Rooibos, the base herb used in this blend, originates in the Western Cape region of South Africa.
Water Temperature: 195°F
Leaf to Water Ratio: 1 heaping tablespoon per 16 oz
Steep Time: 4-5 minutes
General Guide:
- Add tea leaves to a teapot, fill-your-own tea bag or infuser basket.
- Use 1 to 3 teaspoons (1 tablespoon) of leaves per cup (8 oz) of water. Adjust to taste.
- Bring fresh, cold water to a rolling boil, allow it to cool slightly, then pour water over tea leaves and cover.
- Infuse (steep) leaves between 2-5 minutes; 3½ minutes is a good average that works well for most tea types. Do not over steep or tea may become bitter. If you prefer strong tea, do not over steep; simply use more leaves.
- Remove bag or infuser from water or strain leaves. Enjoy!
Water Quality: Tea is only as good as the water used to prepare it. Avoid distilled or unfiltered tap water, which can limit tea’s flavor. Bottled spring water or filtered tap water is ideal.
Water Temperature: Most teas taste best when prepared with water around 195˚F (just below boiling) however, some teas require a lower temperature or they may become bitter.
Iced Tea: To make fresh iced tea, use twice as much tea to account for dilution by ice. Hot Brew: follow directions above, allow tea to cool, and add ice. Cold Brew: pour fresh, cold water over tea leaves, cover, and refrigerate 8 hours.

What a Surprisingly Pleasant Blend!I received a sample (in a previous order) and gave it a try, thinking, meh, weird name for a tea, and hoping it wasn't a novelty. I gave it a try and also poured my husband a cup. Wow! What a surprise though! It's tangy, sweet, citrusy, and smooth on the way down. A new favorite for us!

A good caffeine-free dessert teaWhile I prefer the Mocha Berry Truffle tea as a dessert tea, for late evenings it is sometimes better to go caffeine-free. This is a good alternative with plenty of berry flavor. Careful not to steep too long or it gets a little bitter.

Wonderful substitute for my breakfast teaSince having to go caffeine free, I was desperate to find an herbal blend that would substitute for my morning tea. After trying samples of several of the other roiboos blends (all of which are very good on their own, but not quite what I was looking for), I came across Berries & Cream, and it is simply excellent! I drink it with a bit of raw honey and almondmilk, and it's close enough to my beloved French Breakfast in taste and body to satisfy my desire for a warm morning beverage. If you're looking to make the jump to caffeine free, I recommend trying this blend as a substitute for your breakfast teas.
