French Breakfast (bulk 4 oz)
- Organic black tea
- Organic rose petals
- Natural vanilla flavor
This tea is USDA Certified Organic.
This signature Octavia Tea blend is made with a blended base of Dian Hong and Ancient Yunnan Broken Pekoe from Yunnan, China. This premium quality black tea is made with a “broken pekoe” leaf-grade, which increases the cup’s strength and body.
Water Temperature: 195°F
Leaf to Water Ratio: 1 heaping tablespoon per 16 oz
Steep Time: 3-4 minutes
General Guide:
- Add tea leaves to a teapot, fill-your-own tea bag or infuser basket.
- Use 1 to 3 teaspoons (1 tablespoon) of leaves per cup (8 oz) of water. Adjust to taste.
- Bring fresh, cold water to a rolling boil, allow it to cool slightly, then pour water over tea leaves and cover.
- Infuse (steep) leaves between 2-5 minutes; 3½ minutes is a good average that works well for most tea types. Do not over steep or tea may become bitter. If you prefer strong tea, do not over steep; simply use more leaves.
- Remove bag or infuser from water or strain leaves. Enjoy!
Water Quality: Tea is only as good as the water used to prepare it. Avoid distilled or unfiltered tap water, which can limit tea’s flavor. Bottled spring water or filtered tap water is ideal.
Water Temperature: Most teas taste best when prepared with water around 195˚F (just below boiling) however, some teas require a lower temperature or they may become bitter.
Iced Tea: To make fresh iced tea, use twice as much tea to account for dilution by ice. Hot Brew: follow directions above, allow tea to cool, and add ice. Cold Brew: pour fresh, cold water over tea leaves, cover, and refrigerate 8 hours.

My favorite Black TeaEvery guest I serve tea to, this is my number one recommendation for tea with caffeine. The flavor is so unique, delicious, and you can’t find it anywhere else. I love that it is organic and loose.

Love this teaTried a few years ago and fell in love with it. Lighter than a regular black tea and with a splash of cream is just yummy. One of my very favorites.

My new favorite teaThis tea has such a great flavor! It's slightly sweet, and I almost don't need to add anything to it, but my sweet tooth kicks in and I do anyway. It's got a hint of vanilla and caramel, and something else I can't quite put my finger on, that makes it much better than the French Breakfast Tea that I first tried (and it was from France!). I love this tea so much! I will be buying it again!!

Five StarsLove this tea – we've been drinking it since 2014.

the wonderful loose tea has a great flavorI would recommend this tea to anyone who likes a sweet fresh black tea. It is similar to earl grey in taste, but has a fresh light addition to the base flavor that is very appealing. I find that it is a great tea both first thing in the morning (sweat and warm) and a good tea to relax after work (with a cookie).

A favorite for over a decade! This and African Rose are my "always" teas. I've tried many of the others, and they're all wonderful, but this is my morning tea and I love it dearly. I now buy bulk of both since it's less that way. Some at the office, some at home, some here at the cabin. Not too much caffeine, as I'm very sensitive to it. A small pot in the morning is perfect for me without causing loss of sleep that night. And what better way to remember the best trip of a lifetime to my favorite foreign city, Paris! LOVE this blend! <3

French BreakfastMy friend recommended this tea to me. It is her favorite tea and it has become mine as well. I love tea and have a stash of many flavored teas. However, I find myself having a cup of this one almost every morning.

Best Tea I've Ever Hard!I love tea and always try new ones but always gravitate toward more traditional tasting teas. When I tried this, I loved it so much! It has a traditional black tea taste without being too flavored, while having such a more rich and excellent flavor. I buy it in bulk for myself, I can't get enough of it!
-
Love the vanillaThis has became my weekend breakfast tea of choice. I love the vanilla carmel taste. I have also used it in a tea scone recipe. As I came to write this review, I just noticed the brewing tips. I didn't realize it suggested boiling then letting sit until 180F.

The start of my tea journeySo I am new to drinking REAL tea although I always did love my flavored white and green teas from whole foods but I actually get a discount through my employer to buy from Octavia so here I am .. I bought ten samples and on my first which is this French breakfast and I am giving 5 stars because it is amazing . So many different aspects of flavor it is the perfect blend! I hope I haven't set myself up by drinking the best first but I have a feeling that's not the case. I am in love with my little tea pot too!
-
My Favorite Tea!I am a huge tea drinker, I use all loose leaf teas. French Breakfast is bar none my favorite blend. I have had the blend from several different companies and Octavia's blend does not dissapoint. This is a delicious smooth tea that is great for any occasion.

A unique flavor profile I haven't tasted with any other tea. This tea has been lingering in my mind since I first tried it six years ago! The memory of this tea (and the tea itself) likely changed since I sipped it six years ago. It's a lovely Chinese black base with vanilla beans, vanilla flavoring, and rose petals. To be honest, I can't really see too many vanilla beans in the blend, but this is a black tea after all, maybe they're hiding. Octavia suggests three teaspoons for one mug, but I definitely didn't use that much. I thought it would be too much even if I cooled the water to 180 degrees as they also suggested. The scent of the dry leaf is like a baked goodie - definitely vanilla. I'm glad the base tea by appearance seems very similar to what I remember- a Chinese black tea seems perfect for vanilla. The color of the brew seems dark in appearance, but it's smooth and full of that lingering vanilla. So so good. The rose doesn't impact the tea too much and I'm certainly glad there isn't any additional rose flavoring. In the first cup, I could swear there were hints of cherry blossoms. I steeped a half mug full on the third steep and the flavor was still going strong -- somehow it seemed to constantly shift between cherry and cherry blossom, even more than the previous two steeps. A malty sweet brew that I'm very glad to revisit. Is it like I remember? Like I said, memory is fickle, but this tea is very close to memory.
