Quick Brewing Guide
Water Temperature: 195°F
Leaf to Water Ratio: 2 tablespoons per 16 oz
Steep Time: 3-4 minutes
Brewing Instructions
General Guide:
- Add tea leaves to a teapot, fill-your-own tea bag or infuser basket.
- Use 1 to 3 teaspoons (1 tablespoon) of leaves per cup (8 oz) of water. Adjust to taste.
- Bring fresh, cold water to a rolling boil, allow it to cool slightly, then pour water over tea leaves and cover.
- Infuse (steep) leaves 2-5 minutes; 3½ minutes is a good average that works well for most tea types. Do not oversteep or tea may become bitter. If you prefer strong tea, simply use more leaves.
- Remove bag or infuser from water or strain leaves. Enjoy!
Water Quality: Tea is only as good as the water used to prepare it. Avoid distilled or unfiltered tap water, which can limit tea’s flavor. Bottled spring water or filtered tap water is ideal.
Water Temperature: Most teas taste best when prepared with water around 195˚F (just below boiling); however, some teas require a lower temperature or they may become bitter.
Iced Tea: To make fresh iced tea, use twice as much tea to account for dilution by ice. Hot Brew: Follow directions above, allow tea to cool, and add ice. Cold Brew: Pour fresh, cold water over tea leaves, cover, and refrigerate 8 hours.

Superbly understatedThis is a high quality white tea with a very subtle mango taste and smell, intentionally understated and elegant. This company uses actual dried fruit for flavor, which makes a huge difference. Out of the 35 or so varieties of this brand's tea that I have tried, this is still my absolute favorite. As a bonus, all ingredients are organic.

Like a trip to the tropics!Octavia's Mango Sorbet organic white tea is my new summertime favorite! I would describe the flavor as slightly sweet (but not in a syrupy way), pleasantly fruity, refreshing, and, as you'd expect, there is a distinct yet not overpowering flavor of real mango. It's delicious both hot and as iced tea. Since it is organic white tea, it's loaded with antioxidants and nutrients and many studies have shown white tea to be helpful in preventing a variety of degenerative diseases as well as having anti-aging properties. The tin it comes is is gorgeous as well---it would make a beautiful gift for a tea-lover. This is a flavor that conjures up images of palm trees, sunsets over the ocean, and fragrant summer breezes. (It really is that good!)

What I expectedThis tea is exactly what I expected.... a very good quality mango white tea. Not sure what is "sorbet" about it... the word "sorbet" was probably added by someone in Octavia's marketing department to make it sound more exotic and make people say, "Oooo! Mango *sorbet*!!" when they see it and thus more likely to buy it.
I *almost* did not buy it because of what the other reviewer wrote, that the flavor was kind of weak, but I'm glad I ended up buying it.
Keep in mind that white teas are more subtle and delicate in their flavor than a black or green tea. They will not blow your hair back with an intense, rich flavor. The intensity of flavor is exactly as I'd expect from a white tea. (Also, if you do want a more intense flavor you can just add more tea leaves when you steep it.)
The flavor and quality are very good. The only reason I didn't rate it 5 stars is because when it comes to tea there are very few that I'd rate 5 stars. I would've rated this 4.5 stars if that option was available.
Overall, I would buy this tea again and would highly recommend it to others who like white tea. -
Palm trees and tropical breezesOctavia's Mango Sorbet is a vacation to the tropics in a teacup. Even on the darkest, rainiest/snowy days, if I pour a cup of Mango Sorbet I am transported to warm sunny beaches and my spirits lift instantly.

A lovely white tea with actual mango pieces!Mango teas are some of my favorites, so I had to try this one. Summer is waning so I have to revisit the mango and melon teas in my collection! This is a lovely looking white tea with itty bitty pieces of mango. Mango and melon have always paired well with white teas and this is no exception. Somehow to me, this tastes more like melon, or it’s switching between the two flavors. Possibly the white tea naturally tastes like melon. But then the hairs on the white tea give the tea a starchy quality like mango occasionally has in the fruit itself. It’s refreshing, light, and definitely fruity. I bet this is even better when you use around three teaspoons for a mug but I didn’t want to do that to my sample. I do give the tea points for actually including mango in the blend and not just flavoring.
