Description
Inspired by the American South’s penchant for sweet teas, Mint Julep mixes a classic green tea with peppermint, spearmint, and the rounded sweetness of licorice root. The green tea used in this blend contains metabolism-boosting and anti-aging properties. Mint is reported to aid digestion while licorice root may help cleanse and detoxify the body.

Quick Brewing Guide
Water Temperature: 190°F
Leaf to Water Ratio: 1 heaping tablespoon per 16 oz
Steep Time: 2-4 minutes
Brewing Instructions
General Guide:
- Add tea leaves to a teapot, fill-your-own tea bag or infuser basket.
- Use 1 to 3 teaspoons (1 tablespoon) of leaves per cup (8 oz) of water. Adjust to taste.
- Bring fresh, cold water to a rolling boil, allow it to cool slightly, then pour water over tea leaves and cover.
- Infuse (steep) leaves 2-5 minutes; 3½ minutes is a good average that works well for most tea types. Do not oversteep or tea may become bitter. If you prefer strong tea, simply use more leaves.
- Remove bag or infuser from water or strain leaves. Enjoy!
Water Quality: Tea is only as good as the water used to prepare it. Avoid distilled or unfiltered tap water, which can limit tea’s flavor. Bottled spring water or filtered tap water is ideal.
Water Temperature: Most teas taste best when prepared with water around 195˚F (just below boiling); however, some teas require a lower temperature or they may become bitter.
Iced Tea: To make fresh iced tea, use twice as much tea to account for dilution by ice. Hot Brew: Follow directions above, allow tea to cool, and add ice. Cold Brew: Pour fresh, cold water over tea leaves, cover, and refrigerate 8 hours.

Mint JulepI am not a big green tea fan normally, but understand the benefits. So I bought this in hopes of drinking more green tea since it has mint and licorice root in it. I was hoping for a little more sweetness from the licorice root , but overall I have been drinking it cold everyday and just add little monk fruit drops when I want extra sweetness. Still 5 star refreshing!

Octavia Tea, a perfect start to my day.I'm in remission, so green tea is a must for me. I tried every Octavia mint green tea. All the samples that are included in the smaller tin shipments were a plus for trying other teas. Those I didn't care for, I passed on to tea fanatic friends to try. Every tea has a terrific aroma. Mint Julip is my 'cup of tea'! ???? To me, it doesn't have that grassy taste like some of the others did.
I wanted high quality organic loose leaf tea. Octavia provided both. The 1 lb package is perfect for me. -

Very refreshingI love mint julep. This tea reminds me so much of an actual mint julep drink! It is very refreshing and the mint plays a nice role with the tea. I was reluctant at first due to the licorice (don't enjoy licorice at all) but it is such a subtle background flavour in this tea. I will be ordering more! Thank you
