Description
Revered for its medicinal value, Pu-erh is a dark tea from China’s Yunnan Province that, like a fine wine, can mellow and improve with age. Pu-erh undergoes an artisanal, microbial fermentation process that “ripens” the leaf and creates a bold, earthy character. Bringing to mind the satisfying smell of an old library, our Vintage Pu-erh offers intense aromas of raindrop-saturated earth, rich foliage, wet stone, creamy leather and moss. Many Chinese believe that dark tea carries the most health benefits & acts as a probiotic.

Quick Brewing Guide
Water Temperature: 200°F
Leaf to Water Ratio: 1 tablespoon per 16 oz
Steep Time: 4-5 minutes
Brewing Instructions
General Guide:
- Add tea leaves to a teapot, fill-your-own tea bag or infuser basket.
- Use 1 to 3 teaspoons (1 tablespoon) of leaves per cup (8 oz) of water. Adjust to taste.
- Bring fresh, cold water to a rolling boil, allow it to cool slightly, then pour water over tea leaves and cover.
- Infuse (steep) leaves 2-5 minutes; 3½ minutes is a good average that works well for most tea types. Do not oversteep or tea may become bitter. If you prefer strong tea, simply use more leaves.
- Remove bag or infuser from water or strain leaves. Enjoy!
Water Quality: Tea is only as good as the water used to prepare it. Avoid distilled or unfiltered tap water, which can limit tea’s flavor. Bottled spring water or filtered tap water is ideal.
Water Temperature: Most teas taste best when prepared with water around 195˚F (just below boiling); however, some teas require a lower temperature or they may become bitter.

Surprisingly Delicious!I liked it so much I was drinking it every morning. Hearty, no bitterness. Lovely with honey & oat milk.

The taste is so uniqueThis tea has a smooth earthy/malt taste without a hint of bitterness. I'm so glad I tried it, It really grows on you.

A suprisingly high quality, fantastic ripe pu-erh!To be honest, I wasn't expecting much in a pu-erh from a tea shop that doesn't specialize in pu-erh, or at least carry more than a handful of them... but I WAS WRONG. This ripe pu-erh is amazing. None of those unlikable pu-erh characteristics in scent or flavor. It's delicious the entire steep session. Just the pu-erh I was craving yesterday. Two teaspoons is the essential amount for a mug. The scent of the dry leaves is like a bread baked with hay. The flavor is much the same, but with sweetness, starchiness, and even at times a bit of a creamy taste and mouthfeel. I think I could have steeped more than three delicious steeps with these leaves. It's very smooth but at the same time very dark and everything I always want in a great ripe pu-erh. I don't bother with the highest quality pu-erh, but I've had enough pu-erh to know that this one is good enough for me to be a favorite.

The most gentle tea you'll ever drink.This is an absolutely stunning tea! The flavor is smooth and rich, but not harsh. There's none of that green/black tea kick. Earthy, old library taste that inspires!
